It has to be mentioned that floating tile floor can include laminate floor tiles as well. These tiles are able to add a special look to the whole design and are available in a great number of finishes that resemble ceramic tile, wood, and even natural stone.

Speaking about the installation process of the laminate tiles, it's necessary to say that it is extremely easy and can be accomplished by almost everyone. These tiles just click together without any thinset mortar or glue which are usually used during installation of standard tiles.

If you're going to install floating tile floor you probably know that there is high risk that it will cause noise when anyone walks on it. For this reason, they install a foam underlayment that can significantly reduce this unpleasant effect. This kind of underlayment also helps to make the floating floor give slightly. As a result, people who are walking on this floor will feel less fatigue in their feet, especially when standing on it for a long period of time.

As you can see, it's very important to correctly install a floating tile floor, that's why further you're given a number of tips which are designed to help you in this interesting yet responsible project. Try to follow all the given instructions and you're guaranteed to have the floor of your dream.

1 First of all, you're highly recommended to sweep and mop your current. Have it get dried well before getting to the floating tile floor installation. Only when you're completely sure the floor is clean and dry enough, follow the next recommendation.

2 As it was already mentioned higher, a foam underlayment must be installed on the clean floor only. As a rule, foam sheets are 1/8 inch thick. As practice shows, an average room requires a few lengths of the underlayment to cover the floor.

3 Further you'll have to cover the seams between the foam underlayment pieces with a specially designed masking tape.

4 Now it's high time to install the first tile onto the room floor in one of its corners. Leave a gap of about 1/4 inch wide between the walls and tiles.

5 The next tile has to be snapped onto the first one. it's necessary to continue this process until the entire floor is covered with the tiles. To snap the tiles you will need to press one tile tightly against the tile that has been already installed on the floor. As a matter of fact, the tiles snap together easily. By the way, snapping should be accomplished at an angle of 45 degrees. Push the tile down towards the floor and it is expected to snap into place quickly and easily. Sometimes, this trick can require a little effort but the process will get easier as you continue installation of the tiles over and over again.

6 Finally, when all of the tiles have been installed you will need to cut the end tiles with the help of a miter saw. This is done in the end of each row of tiles. This will allow the tiles to fit into their right places where a full-sized tile can't fit.

As you can see, installing a floating tile floor isn't a difficult time. The only thing you'll need to have is some time, patience and care. Why pay money for installation if it can be done no worse on your own?
